FAQs
How much does a boarding cattery cost and is the quality of care reflected in the cost? Tips and advice for first time users of a cattery
- It also pays to find out the vaccination requirements for your cat as early as you can. If the boarding cattery is casual about vaccinations, you can safely view this as a red flag.
- Be prepared – vaccinate your cat/s at least two weeks prior to going away. If your cat has never been vaccinated or it has been over 4 years they will also require a booster. This could mean it is 5 weeks before they can board. This is especially important during peak holiday times because of high occupancy rates.
- Make sure your cat’s heartworm, intestinal worming and flea treatments are current. If your cat(s) is found to have fleas and/or worms then we will administer a suitable treatment, the cost of which will be added to your bill.
- Provide the boarding cattery with a clear and honest outline of your cat’s medical history and current medication so that all staff members know what to expect and how to act in an emergency.
- Let the staff know who your preferred veterinary clinic is in case of illness or emergency.
- Inform the staff of all feeding, bedding and exercise requirements that your cat requires or might enjoy during their stay.

Can I visit the cattery first before booking?
Absolutely, we welcome viewings. Please contact us to make a time to visit during our business hours.
What happens if my cat is unwell during his or her stay?
We keep a close eye on all cats under our care. If we have any concerns about your cat’s health it is our policy to take him or her to the vet. We will endeavour to contact you in the first instance and before any treatment decisions are made. If contact cannot be made we will ensure the cat receives the needed help. The cost for this will be passed on to the owner.
Are staff members around all the time in case something happens?
Rest assured, your cat will be safe at all times. Our incredible manager Michele loves spending quality time with every cat each day. She watches the cats all the time, and is quick off the mark when anything looks wrong. Surita and Pieter who own Club Meow live on site too, so there is always a staff member available.
Do you accept bookings for kittens as well as mature cats?
Club Meow caters to cats of all ages from kittens through to older cats. In fact, bringing your kitten in helps them get used to a boarding cattery and is recommended.
